I'm fortunate to get to teach a class with Early Childhood Education and Elementary Education majors. We often learn children's songs and games which they will be able to use when they are kindergarten teachers.  Youtube is a great source.  These pages are for their reference.

Most have lyric (words) sheets next to the video.  The others have the words on the video.

Note that there are 3 pages in this set

Who took the cookie from the cookie jar  (great for rhythm and learning names)  (lyrics HERE)

Who took the cookie.
This is a longer version, with lots of teaching tips.)
The Hokey Pokey  There are two versions.  This one is live action

The Hokey Pokey  .  The version below give cues for each vocabulary item. It might be better for teaching the song.

<-- This version of Head,
shoulders, knees and toes leaves out words in each verse.  Good practice.  BTW, the link has lots more songs after the first one.  (lyrics HERE)

Below is another song that leaves out information - this time letters -- each time.  B-I-N-G-O   (lyrics HERE)

Storytelling with Children

Something that goes hand-in-hand with kids' songs is storytelling.  I introduce my university students to it with the handout HERE.  We use "Big Books" to practice.  And HERE is PowerPoint I use.
