Warm-ups & tasks for non-majors
If you have students who are not English majors taking required English classes, try some of these links that are connected to their majors. Most are warm-up activities. It is a way to make the class more interesting and meaningful. Many are good for asynchronous classes.

Flipgrid project work Project work tasks for Flipgrid (asynchronous). These are organized around the English Firsthand curriculum but grammar and language functions are identified so you can use it with any text.
Songs for distance teaching
I don't use the waiting room on Zoom any more. Instead, I get to class about 5 minutes early and have some interesting music/video when students arrive. It starts the class off right (and most students come a little early. They don't want to miss the music.
