Innervoice

Every time we have a conversation, we are really having two: one with ourself and one with the person/people we are talking to. "Innervoice" is the conversation we have with ourselves. We all have an innervoice in our mother tongue. English students can develop an innervoice in the language they are learning.
Brian Tomlinson has pioneered work on innervoice in Second/Foreign Language Learning. From 2007 until 2012, I taught a course called. "Innervoice, time, task planning and practice" at Teachers College Columbia University MA TESOL program, Tokyo. Here are a couple handouts I used with the classes.
Innervoice gives a a series of innervoice practice activities to use with student high school age and above. Here is one of the handouts I used at Teachers College to introduce the idea.
Innervoice and kids is a series of activities for young learners.
